Just a quick employment update today.



# GenVis

So only a few months ago [I announced](http://localhost:4500/personal/goodbye-tapslots-hello-genvis/) I was starting at a Machine Learning based company called GenVis to work as Head of Engineering on their various projects. Although I was super excited about joining the company its quickly became apparent that due to some personality conflicts things werent going to work out.

So unfortunately after just 6 weeks at GenVis I decided that it was probably in my and the companies best interest that I leave and seek other adventures.

# Freelance

So since then until 3 weeks ago I have been working freelance on a couple of projects. The projects arent yet ready to be announced so I cant talk in detail about those yet but one was a website (built using my favorite Typescript and React) and the other was a game (built with Unity). Hopefully I will be able to talk about them at some point because they are both very interesting projects.

# Bamboo

So 3 weeks ago I decided to re-enter full time employment by accepting a position at [Bamboo](https://getbamboo.io). Its a company that is building a Cryptocurrency Micro-Investing platform. No clue what im talking about? Check out this video:

Im going to be working there as a full-stack developer on all parts of the system. So far it has been a really interesting eclectic collection of technologies from React Native, Typescript to Labmbdas and Go. Im excited to be learning all these new things and hopefully building an excellent product in an exciting space.

Just a quick one today, I thought I would share a little tool I wrote to help with converting data exported from Exodus to be used in CoinTracking.com.



For a while I have been dabbling in Crypto currency trading. To manage all my trades and currencies I like to use [CoinTracking.com](https://cointracking.info).

CoinTracking has a wide range of data import options including one to import from my favourite crypto wallet [Exodus](https://www.exodus.io/). Unfortunately the process is rather laborious as you first must export each coin individually from Exodus then import each one individually.

I noticed today that Exodus has an option to export a "SAFE" report. This is a zip file that contains a bunch of info dumped from Exodus and is supposed to be used by Exodus support to debug issues in the wallet.

I cracked open the zip and noticed that all the transaction histories for all the coins were included, great, that will save me a bunch of work when importing back into CoinTracking. Unfortunately the exported transactions are in JSON format but CoinTracking expects CSV.

So I decided to crack open VS code and cook up a quick npm library to help me convert from the JSON to CSV for CoinTracking.

A nice and neat simple tool to convert from Exodus' SAFE report to a bunch of CSV documents for consumption in CoinTracking.
